At Kind Academy, we know that launching a microschool isn’t just about vision—it’s also about resources. That’s why we’re thrilled to share a game-changing opportunity for microschool founders: the Microschool Loan Program, a new initiative powered by Building Hope in partnership with Stand Together Trust and the Beth and Ravenel Curry Foundation.
This program offers affordable, flexible startup capital—$5,000 to $50,000 in loans—to support early-stage microschools with critical startup costs like facilities, curriculum, training, marketing, and staffing. It's a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at building the financial ecosystem needed to sustain and scale community-driven educational innovation.
We’ve spoken directly with the team behind this fund, and they see us. They know that schools led by educators and founders from our communities are often the most sustainable and impactful. For the right applicants, they are open to prioritizing funding access to microschools like ours—especially those serving underserved populations.
Here’s Why This Matters:
Microschools are now serving over 750,000 students across the U.S.
Families are actively seeking personalized, community-based alternatives to traditional schooling.
Access to capital continues to be one of the biggest barriers for founders with big dreams but limited financial backing.
Program Highlights:
Loan Amounts: $5,000–$50,000
Eligibility: You must be launching by Fall 2025 and meet basic criteria (e.g., legal entity, business bank account, financial model)
Terms: Interest-only in Year 1, then gradual repayment over 3–5 years
Rolling Applications Begin: July 7, 2025 (early access July 1 if you submit an interest form)
